With this she's always knows what's up and knows when to bail when people get close to her identity. She can also easily spread rumors around and because she is nice and outgoing, none would be the wiser.

It was during her last defeat that Medusa had decided to take a break and maybe settle down with a mortal for a little while. Medusa was quite picky about the men she saw, ever since she was turned into a gorgon at the hands of Athena and Poseidon she was much more careful. She then met a man named Ross Monroe, he was a sick man, and he was also blind. The only person to be able to resist her powers. She stood with the man for a while until she had a child with him and disappeared, leaving him with the child. However he was ill and needed help with the child and the man hired a nanny to watch her, which turned out to be none other than Medusa.
Medusa watched her daughter Jade very carefully as she also tended to Ross from time to time. Eventually Ross' body could no longer support him and he passed away. He was quite rich, leaving his sole heir, Jade all of his money. The 'mother' seemed to return and claimed her daughter and looked after her properly at their new house. Jade was a bit of a brat growing up, she got everything she ever asked for and more. But the one thing that Jade and Medusa couldn't agree on was what Jade's future should be. Medusa obviously wanted her daughter to get revenge on her but that's not what Jade wanted. She wanted to become an expert in snakes. She liked snakes and wanted to be around them, might as well pick up a job on it.
Medusa eventually sat Jade down so they could have a talk about her heritage. She explained how she became a horrible creature known as a Gorgon. She explained how the gods would mate with mortals as she did and they would go to a camp to be trained to hunt people like Jade down. Because it is in their nature to be heroic and destroy creatures in the name of their parents. This caused Jade to hate and mistrust the demigods. It wasn't fair what they were doing to people like her. In any case according to her mother there were two camps known as Camp Halfblood and Jupiter, they were Greek and Roman. Whispers said that the camps were going to war under the guiding hands of Titans who now wanted control of things. So Jade didn't see a reason to get back at the Gods if they were going to be dead soon anyways.
Jade pretty much decided to roam around freely for the time being. She does her best to avoid the demigods and heroes alike.

POWERS & ABILITIES
-[STONE EYES]- A lesser version of Medusa's infamous power to change anyone to stone that gazes upon her visage. Jade only needs to make eye contact with someone to paralyze them completely. Unfortunately her mortal origins have watered down her ability to only temporarily paralyze someone. Withing a day or two it wears off. And the person's skin also doesn't turn to stone. Jade needs sunglasses to hide her eyes which are serpentine and they block the powers.
-[SNAKE SKIN]- As most gorgons Jade has rough scaley skin that is very durable. It is able to take damage from normal weapons alone but is unable to protect Jade from weapons that are of magical nature.
-[PARSELTONGUE]- Due to Jade's Gorgon nature she has the ability to talk and understand snakes. The communion between them is like a normal conversation and she can convince the snakes to do favors for her.
